Advanced modalities aim to enhance the benefits of your facial. I call these SMART facials. My goal is to give you a lasting glow not one that you wash off when you shower. SMART modalities: stimulate cell turnover, enhance circulation (increasing the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and metabolic waste), and stimulate ATP (cellular fuel). They do so in a NON-invasive way. So you get to GLOW on the GO! Cocktailing and tailoring these modalities to meet your needs is what we esthies LOVE to do! Let your esthy guide you to the best modalities for your skin. Some have contraindications but let your pro worry about those details. Below is the nitty gritty, if you’re curious.
LED by Light Stim
LED is popular in my treatment room! LED is the abbreviation for Light Emitting Diodes and is used to assists the skin in the creation and utilization of its own natural resources. Unlike invisible UV rays that are harmful to the skin, the light waves used by Light Stim are used for their ability to stimulate the production of ATP in the skin. ATP is cellular fuel and required by the cell for the active transfer of nutrients and oxygen to skin. Just as plants use light and covert it into energy, our skin cells absorb the light during a treatment and convert the light into useable energy. The addition of light therapy in the treatment setting will stimulate local blood flow and increase the amount of oxygen and nutrients being delivered to the tissue during the treatment. This conversion of energy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, reduces breakouts by killing P.Acne bacteria, reduces inflammation, and stimulates regeneration and repair. As we age, our bodies produce less and less ATP so light therapy becomes another tool in our non-invasive “beauty tool belt” to offset age related changes to our skin. LED light therapy is non-invasive and relaxing.
Micro current by Nuerotris
Micro current is another non-invasive treatment to offset undesirable changes in the skin as we age. This modality utilizes low pulse micro currents (electricity) to stimulate facial muscles. Micro current is essentially a workout for the muscles of the face. Like the muscles of the body that atrophy with age, the muscles of our face also need toning. Changes in the facial musculature become more noticeable around 40. Initially applied in a series of treatments and followed by monthly maintenance, micro current is a non-invasive way to keep your face looking youthful and firm. Micro current has been shown to increase the production of ATP, increase blood flow and oxygenation to the tissue, stimulates lymphatic drainage, and firms the tissue, which reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and folds.
Pure Oxygen by Luzern
Pure high-pressured oxygen has many skin enhancing benefits. Topically infused oxygen boosts skin metabolism and speeds the skin’s healing process. As such, it is a wonderful accompaniment to every facial treatment to offset any redness or irritation from extractions or topical exfoliants. Pure Oxygen is a natural bactericide, which fights existing breakouts and treats freshly extracted pores so they do not become re-infected. Inflamed skin caused by stress or injury can also benefit from the circulation enhancing properties of oxygen. Increasing the exchange of nutrients and waste is a healthy way to detox and calm the skin. The treatment is a soothing and refreshing way to finish your facial experience.
Ultrasonic Spatula
Ultrasonic sound waves are the next generation of microdermabrasion and referred to as “soft peeling.” Sound waves act on the body by stimulating cells. Utilizing 28,000 cycles of sound waves per second, the treatment exfoliates the superficial scaly layers of the skin, enhances product penetration, stimulates blood flow, enhances the exchange of oxygen and nutrients to the cells, and breaks down hardened sebum trapped in the pores (painless extractions). This leaves your skin feeling like silk and allows your products to work more efficiently.
